Eliminate the need to try and get duct tape unstuck from delicate surfaces by using steam to loosen it before you pull it off. Hold a steam iron about an inch above the stuck area, making sure not to touch it since heat can damage some surfaces. The heat will loosen the adhesive on your duct tape while keeping your delicate item intact. A combination of soap and hot water also works well when trying to remove duct tape. Just rub a bar of soap on the stuck area and use a sponge or wash cloth to apply some water. The hot water will soften the adhesive so you can easily peel it off without leaving any residue behind.

-If you don’t have any soap or magic erasers at home but still want to get rid of the adhesive left by duct tape, try using toothpaste. Just squeeze out some toothpaste onto your palm and rub it over the residue until it gets dissolved then wash with water and pat dry. Toothpaste has mild abrasives that help dissolve gooey substances without damaging surfaces!
